Spring Play Away Day 2026

What a fantastic day of music-making in Glasgow!

On Sunday 1st March 2026, we welcomed 49 young musicians to Hutchesons’ Grammar School for our Spring Play Away Day.

It was brilliant to see so many young musicians coming together from across Scotland, with 16 Local Authorities represented. Even more exciting, 11 musicians were completely new to SScOT, making up 22% of the day’s participants! 💙

🎻 27 string players
🎺 22 wind, brass & percussion players

The day was all about playing together, learning from one another and enjoying the experience of being part of a larger ensemble. For some, it was their first taste of SScOT; for others, it was a chance to reconnect with friends and continue developing their ensemble skills.

A huge thank you to all our musicians, families, tutors and conductors for making the day such a success. We loved seeing the energy, enthusiasm and musicality throughout the day! 🎶

We’ll see you at the next one! 💙🎵
